    Exceptional

The whole experience of peace, quiet and a friendly atmosphere

Work to plumbing and exterior was being done during the stay, although they were friendly and did not disrupt the stay.

    Very good

The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfasts were fantastic.

There wasn't really anything that I didn't like. I think the decor and carpets were in serious need of changing for example there were cigarette burns on the carpets and they were a bit grubby, and the wallpaper and paint was yellow from cigarette smoke. It was easy to see that it hadn't been refreshed since the smoking ban in public places had been enforced. However, with a few simple improvements/updating this hotel could easily achieve a 3 star standard and regain the reputation for a high standard that it used to have. There was also contradicting information. On the internet site it stated that rooms had to be vacant by 10amm, but the guest information in the rooms stated that checking out time was 12 noon.

    Very good

The rooms were spacious and clean. A lovely lounge bar for residents. The breakfast was superb.

Was a little disappointed as the description advertised king size beds in all double rooms however ours was a double bed. Only a minor observation.

Great staff, good quality food, nice and secluded although in town. Our requests were promptly met by staff. We had baby with us and they heated the room in middle of summer, really appreciated it as we didn't have to worry about baby. Huge room, fitted travel cot and still had space to move. Room was cleaned daily when we were out. Bar has tv and full sky for a nice night in, you serve yourself and put in honesty book. Loved it that we could rest in afternoons without any disturbing noises from hotel or surroundings. We would stay there again!

Squeaking floors, could hear upstairs guest.

    Very good

The staff were brilliant. Room good size. Its in a lovely street. Not far from the seaside - although by car. Excellent value for money.

We had the family room which was huge but the bathroom is in need of some work. Staff did warn us but the toilet/bath/shower has this pump out machine. Do not use it when family are asleep as its noisy and even the wall shakes when it runs.

    Fabulous

No fuss hotel with friendly staff. Felt at ease immediately and found surroundings comfortable.

Navigation to hotel may have been easier if I'd trusted satnav.

Good Size room. Expected a King size bed; got a Super King! Bathroom with Large Corner Bath and Shower, that we could have took home. Very comfortable and homely hotel, where we were made to feel at home. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order, with quality ingredients.
